【托福備考】善用 AI 讓你不當寫作句點王！

你知道新制托福寫作要寫 Email 嗎？這種題型雖然日常，但有時題目給的「寫作情境」很可能不是同學熟悉的，導致很難發揮。

以下題為例 (取自 TOEFL iBT® Practice Test)。你看過詩歌雜誌嗎？你寫過詩嗎？你投過稿嗎？

若無，題目要求你 Tell the editor what you like about the new magazine，會不會讓你當場愣住，浪費掉寶貴時間 (只有 7 分鐘唷)，最後甚至只寫出 I really love the magazine because the poems are fun 如此空泛的內容呢？

托福寫作重視 Development (開展)，若寫不出有肉的東西，可是致命傷呀！

Email 寫作非常考驗考生「掰」的能力。而「掰」這件事，AI 最會了！

如果你真的常常是句點王，建議你多跟 AI 聊聊，找到你自己的聲音！

實際上能怎麼做呢？

1️⃣ 從你的「科系、專長或興趣」開始

2️⃣ 向 AI 下指令：How does [主題或行為] relate to [你的科系、專長或興趣] ?

3️⃣ 將你有感的 AI 回覆，「自行」擴展成可寫入 Email 的內容

⚠️ 切記不要直接請 AI 生文，畢竟考試時無法使用 AI。但 AI 可以是你平時備考，寫作前腦力激盪的好夥伴！

以上題為例，一位資工系同學，就可以向 AI 發問：How does reading poetry relate to a computer science major?

ChatGPT 的回覆如下 (簡單條列)：

1. Close Reading Improves Analytical Thinking

2. Poetry Develops Precision with Language

3. Pattern Recognition

4. Creativity and Problem Solving

5. Understanding Human Communication

找一個好發揮的點，開始撰寫。舉例來說，第 5 點可能可以擴展成：

➥ As a computer science student, I spend most of my time studying technology. However, the poems published in your magazine help me realize the importance of human communication and different perspectives. Understanding people’s feelings and experiences is essential for developing technology that truly serves its users.

這樣題目中的第 1 項要求就成功滿足啦！

若要更好 (時間允許的話)，可再過渡到「為何想要投稿」，讓文章更順地接到另 2 項要求：

➥ Inspired by the works published in your magazine, I would like to contribute my own writing as well.

當然，你也可以寫：你喜歡詩歌雜誌的封面、雜誌常收錄你喜歡作家的詩…，照樣得分。

⭐ 但本文主要想告訴大家：AI 強項之一，在於能協助使用者產出更為「個人化」的內容。

因此，平時備考時，若能多從「自己」出發，讓 AI 協助你探索「你與題目之間的關係」，你會發現自己想法的觸角總能伸得更遠、更廣。

這樣往後面對任何寫作情境，你都能下筆如有神，不會在不熟情境卡住，因為你已練就「掰」的套路—也就是「代入自身」。

「掰」，就從了解自己開始，and AI is here to help!
